Navy Women's Spring (March 11 - March 12)

        This past weekend, Virginia Sailing's women's team competed in the Navy Spring Women's regatta in Annapolis, MD. Sailors Colleen Roney ('18), Kat Catallo ('20), Julia Gowell ('18), and Rachel McConaughy ('20) persevered through lots of breeze and cold temperatures to finish in eighteenth place! A huge thank you to alum Ellen Hubbard for coaching and Navy for hosting!

MAISA/SAISA (March 25 - March 26)

        This past weekend, Virginia Sailing Women's Team competed at Hampton University in the MAISA/SAISA regatta and placed third!! Julia Gowell ('18) and Waverlee Harvey ('18) sailed in Division A, with Boo Devanny ('17) and Kate Green ('19) in Division B. A huge thank you to Hampton University and the Harvey family for hosting. Congratulations, ladies! 

Hanbury Trophy Team Race (March 25 - March 26)

        A busy weekend for Virginia Sailing! Sailors Colin Suvak ('19), Colleen Roney ('18), Alexander Singh ('19), Tricia Stump ('18), Victor Layne ('20), and Kat Catallo ('20) competed in the Hanbury Trophy Team Race regatta at Christopher Newport University and placed first with a 14-1 record. Thank you to CNU and the Patterson family for hosting. Congratulations!!

MAISA Team Race Challenge (April 1)

           Congratulations to our Virginia sailors who competed in the MAISA Team Race Challenge today! Sailors Alexander Singh ('19), Tricia Stump ('18), Waverlee Harvey ('18), Kate Green ('19), Colin Suvak ('19), Colleen Roney ('18), Julia Gowell ('18), and Victor Layne ('20) worked hard all day to complete fourteen sets, finishing in sixth place. A huge thank you to St. Mary's College & Muriel Martin for hosting. Wahoowa!

Jeremy A. Pinkerton Memorial (April 8 - April 9)

         Congratulations to our Pinkerton crew! After two days of racing, sailors Ian Palmer ('19), Jessie Anderson ('20), Brian Lithen ('20), and Connor Segal ('20) placed fifth at the Jeremy A. Pinkerton regatta! Thank you to Maryland and the Devanny family for hosting. Wahoowa!

Leroy Grant Trophy (April 15 - April 16)

        Congratulations to this crew for placing FIRST at the Leroy Grant Trophy. Sailors Colin Suvak ('19), Colleen Roney ('18), Alexander Singh ('19), and Julia Gowell ('18) faced light breeze on Saturday, but had champagne conditions on Sunday. Thank you to SMC and Muriel Martin for hosting. Wahoowa!

MAISA Women's Championship (April 22 - April 23)

        CONGRATULATIONS to Virginia Sailing's Women's Team for qualifying for Nationals!!! After placing ninth at the MAISA Women's Championship, the team qualified for Nationals in Charleston in late May. We are so proud of Boo Devanny ('17), Kate Green ('19), Julia Gowell ('18), Waverlee Harvey ('18), Colleen Roney ('18), and Kat Catallo ('20) for working so hard this weekend. A huge thank you to Navy and the Devanny family for hosting and to Colin Suvak for coaching!

America Trophy - MAISA Conference Championship (April 29 - April 30)

       This past weekend, sailors Colin Suvak ('19), Tricia Stump ('18), Julia Gowell ('18), and Alexander Singh ('19) competed at Cornell University in the America Trophy - MAISA Conference Championship. Thank you to Cornell and Walter Johnson for hosting!

Women's Eastern Division National Semifinals (May 23 - May 24)

        Congratulations to Virginia Sailing's Women's Team for competing in the Eastern Division of National Semifinals. After two days of heavy winds and stormy weather, the team placed fourteenth overall. We're so proud of our ladies' relentless efforts throughout both the fall and spring season. Thank you to our sailors - Waverlee Harvey ('18), Tricia Stump ('18), Kat Catallo ('20), Julia Gowell ('18), Colleen Roney ('18), Boo Devanny ('17), and Kate Green ('19), Sam Patterson ('16) for coaching during the regatta, Chris ('16) and Jamie Craven and Alexander Singh ('19) for coaching during practices, and the College of Charleston and the deGrace family for hosting. Wahoowa!
